The equal top priced lot at the Magic Millions second session last year, Written Tycoon colt, Written Choice started his career with a bang at Sandown on Wednesday.

After showing ability in the trials there was plenty of money for the three year-old, opening at $16 in the betting before consistent money saw him firm into second favourite by start time.

He was never in danger of defeat either from the time the gates opened, showing good natural speed to put him immediately up with the leaders before taking control around the turn and proving a grade above the opposition.

He was tiring on the line, being “still very new” according to rider Regan Bayliss, and he looks a horse certainly capable of progressing to better races.

Trained by Logan McGill, Written Choice is the sixth foal and fourth winner for Redoute’s Choice mare Rate The Choice.
