Caulfield Guineas-winner Mighty Boss and Champagne Stakes-champion Seabrook now join fellow Group 1 winning stablemate Grunt as Mick Price’s nominations for next year’s inaugural running of the All-Star Mile at Flemington.
Price’s three star milers join a host of marquee nominations for the $5m event, ahead of the close of nominations on 15 January before they will then be voted on by the public, with the voting period officially opening on 21 January.
BlueBlood Thoroughbreds who own Seabrook say the race is tailor-made for their flying filly.
“It’s the ideal race for her, just perfect, a mile is definitely her best distance and we’re confident as a three year-old she’ll be weighted well against the older horses,” said a representative for BlueBlood Thoroughbreds.
“It’s great that Victorian racing have put a race like this together, the prizemoney is great and for a horse like her it allows her to stay going around the way she does best.
“She’s having a break now and from all accounts is getting bigger and stronger and loving this warmer weather, so bring on that race, it will be her grand final next Autumn and we’re all very excited,” he said.
The top ten vote-getters from the nominated horses, and four wildcards chosen by Racing Victoria, will take their place in the world’s richest mile race on 16 March, 2019.
