Seabrook races into Golden Slipper

Slipper fits for BLUEBLOOD’S SEABROOK after Sweet effort by smart filly

Prominent national horse syndicator, Blueblood Thoroughbred’s two-year-old filly Seabrook emerged as a genuine Golden Slipper contender with an impressive victory in the Sweet Embrace Stakes.

TAB fixed odds firmed Seabrook’s odds for the Golden Slipper Stakes, run on March 24, from $51 into $15 and her trainer Mick Price admitted he was worried in the run but had confidence in Hugh Bowman’s tactics.

“When he dragged her back I was wondering what he was doing but he knew exactly what he wanted to do,” Price said.

Price said Bowman had indicated to him he had a Golden Slipper commitment to one of Chris Waller’s youngsters and Damien Oliver had told him he wanted to ride Seabrook.

Bowman described Seabrook as a perfect Golden Slipper horse and said he was impressed by her toughness.

Price said Seabrook was “a good stress free filly” and would have her next start in the Golden Slipper.

“She’s had a really busy week. Reverse work on Saturday and Tuesday and then a float trip to Randwick and then a race in the space of seven days. He wasted to ride her and she starts from barrier 12 and she still wins,” Price said.

Price was disappointed Seabrook didn’t get a run in the Blue Diamond Stakes as he said she would have given Written By a run for his money.

BlueBlood and Mick Price have another Hinchinbrook filly for sale they recently purchased and they both declare she has the making and build like SEABROOK. Shares start as low as $3,375.
