An “Ollie Special” of a ride by Damien Oliver aboard ZERO DOUBT, lead the Not A Single Doubt gelding to his first city class victory at Caulfield today, earning the connections a cool $74,250 in prize money.
“It was good to get a win. Just a bit messy getting to the turn. I had to switch to the inside, and he did a good job. He’s come through the grades nicely this horse and finished really strongly”, commented the champion hoop after the race.
“It was nice to get a win for Blueblood. I’ve had a lot of luck with them. Both myself and Mick, we’ve had some good success and some good horses as well, so they’re (Blueblood) good contributors to the stable and it’s nice to see them get a handy horse again.” said Oliver. The win was the second from just six starts for the 3yo gelding who has shown a dramatic turn around in form this preparation.
“It was a super win and we are very impressed with him. He’s come on leaps and bounds with each run this time in. Ollie rode him very well today and I was really pleased with the horse’s efforts.” commented David Mourad, Racing Manager for Blueblood Thoroughbreds.
“He’s a good example of how much a horse can improve from their first to second preparation, and of course from being gelded.”
