Breeding after Racing

Life after racing for mares certainly has many options for syndicate owners who have the opportunity to continue their venture into the Breeding world.

Blueblood Thoroughbreds successfully raced and turned Shebrings Class (by Sebring) into a breeding partnership. Shebrings Class is out of the Group 3 winning mare, Crown Princess (by Beautiful Crown). She won twice in her career but due to joint issues, she was retired to stud in November 2015.

Majority of the syndicate owners formed a partnership under the direction of Carol Walsh who is also the director of BBT Breeding and Racing, which manages broodmares that have retired from racing.

Shebrings Class was the first mare for Blueblood that retired to the breeding barn and recently gave birth to a cracking colt (pictured) by the outstanding Stallion, Not A Single Doubt.

For only a fraction of the training costs that owners pay during a horses racing career, owners can enjoy the experience of Breeding one of their own.

BBT Breeding and Racing looks for the best possible cross matches with commercially desirable stallions to gain the most attractive foals to be sold through the Weanling or Yearling sales.

Life after Racing is what we at Blueblood Thoroughbreds do.
