It’s Golden Slipper week and The Armchair Punter is showing his hand early

Respected racing writer from Racenet Stephen Brassel writes today…..

It’s Golden Slipper week and I’m showing my hand early while I’m also asking whether we finally see a worthy rival for champion mare Winx in Saturday’s George Ryder Stakes.

I’VE SETTLED ON MY SLIPPER PICK

I might as well throw my two-bobs worth into the Golden Slipper melting pot and hand up my early selection for the big race for those who won’t get to see my tips later in the week, it’s Seabrook.

Obviously, the barriers are going to have a major impact on the happenings this weekend however I don’t see the Mick Price-trained Seabrook being adversely affected should she draw badly.

The daughter of Hinchinbrook has only had three starts and every time she goes to the track the filly improves so I’m expecting she’ll be cherry ripe the big prize.

She was desperately unlucky when third to Enbihaar in the Blue Diamond Prelude for fillies then came to Sydney and endured a wide run before powering through the line to win her place in the Slipper field by taking out the Sweet Embrace Stakes.

There’s certain to be a ton of speed on and Seabrook is the one with a booming finish.

Unless something unforeseen happens between now and Slipper time Seabrook is the one I’ll be backing, and with a good degree of confidence.

*Seabrook was emphatic in her Sydney debut win
