This filly was bought from the Inglis Easter Sales. She is to be trained with one of Australia’s best trainers, Mick Price.
Strong medium sized Filly, beautiful bold head and a great mover and a fabulous walker to top it off.
Mick Price’s comments upon inspection of the filly, “Great mover, great walking filly, a pedigree that has thrown Group Winners in the past. I love this filly, I think she’s a super filly. She has a great temperament and I like everything about her”.
She has completed her breaking in process at Ledger Racing with astute horseman John Ledger who was very pleased with how she has handled herself. She is in training now at Mick Price’s Stables at Caulfield.
The Filly has passed 100% clean scope, x ray and clinical examination.
The Champion Australian 3YO. On 14 February 2015, Exosphere won his first race, leading by 4 lengths in the 1000m race at Kembla Grange. A fortnight later, Exosphere won the Grp 2 Skyline Stakes at Warwick Farm. The Sydney Morning Herald said he “panelled his rivals”. He got back in the field and worked his way to the centre of the track before unleashing a sprint that had the race settled in a manner of strides.
Exosphere returned in the Grp 2 The Run To The Rose in August 2015, last of a small field of 5 at the turn, Exosphere won easily. Jockey, Sam Clipperton, who was covering for the suspended James McDonald, said, “He is a serious horse. Once I got him out to the centre he sprinted really quickly and had them covered”. Two weeks later, Exosphere was “dominant” in the Golden Rose, winning his first Grp1 event by 2 lengths. Trainer John O’Shea said, “He’s some colt. Wait until he grows into his frame. He is by this great sire LONHRO and he is in for a great season”. Exosphere’s next race was in the Roman Consul Stakes. Entering the straight 10 lengths behind the leader, he won by 3 lengths, breaking the race record by over half a second. Exosphere had one more race, where he failed to place before spelling.
Darren Beadman said “He is a lot like his dad, LONHRO. He’s got presence about him, he’s very casual, laconic type of horse and really saves his energy for the time that’s it’s needed on the track, and when you release the brakes on him you can see that quality there”.

Mussenden is a half-sister to champion 3yo of Australia in WHOBEGOTYOU (by Street Cry sire of WINX). WHOBEGOTYOU won 10 races 2 as a 2yo from 1100m to 2050m including 2 Grp1 races, MRC Caulfield Guineas and the Yalumba Stakes, with total stake earnings of over $2.3 million. 2nd Dam Temple Of Peace is a French Dual Stakes Performer who has had 8 foals to race for 5 winners. Mussenden’s family is one of French and British influenced and she is related to Grp 1 2yo French Stakes winner ROSANAR and French Dual Stakes winner ROSAWA. The family also has a potent double cross of champion sire DANEHILL.

Mick Price gained his license in 1991 and while he enjoyed some early success the big move came in 1996 when he moved into stables at Caulfield that Lee Freedman had previously operated from. The move to Caulfield saw Price move from a bit part to a big player in the Victorian training ranks. He is now firmly established in the top echelon of trainers not only in Victoria but Australia.
Mick Price has prepared more than 100 winners a season for the past 10 seasons. A a position that puts him in rare company. Mick Price has enjoyed abundance of success with 36 Group 1 wins and more than 2000 career wins.
Even more he a fantastic record with two-year-olds and has produced a number of stallions including Extreme Choice and Flying Artie which both have started stud duties in the 2017 season.
