It was a dominant win by MISTER BALLISTIC (Smart Missile x Strictly Personal) as the lightly raced stayer from the Anthony Freedman stable streaked away at Wangaratta (ʀᴀᴄᴇ 4- ʙᴍ64 ʜᴄᴘ 2000ᴍ) Damien Thornton utilised the good gate speed to have him in a forward position and once in a nice rhythm he was able to let the field sort themselves out. It was a positive ride and as the tempo increased at the 1000m his dominance was well and truly asserted upon straightening. With a little shake up the race was over pretty quickly as class prevailed and a commanding margin was established at the post (ᴍᴀʀɢɪɴ: 6ʟ ᴛɪᴍᴇ: 2:05.22)
